Big bang for your buck! March 19, 2010 Iron Monkey (California) 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
I purchased the Tower 200 at my local Target store for $200, which came with a $30 Target gift card. This means that the Tower 200 actually cost me $170. I completely agree with the other reviewer on all points. It's well made, easy to install, and you can start your workouts almost immediately. I suggest watching the DVD first, which is included with the package. The workouts are effective and fairly safe to do. The excercises on the manual look good but lack detailed instructions. If you're familiar with bodybuilding, I'm sure you can figure it out. The kind of people that would get the biggest bang for their buck, are probably weekend warriors that want to get in shape, but don't have the time or money to go to a gym. I believe it's safe to use if you're in your 40's or 50's. I'm a martial artist, and use it for conditioning and strength training. I especially like doing the 11 minute and MMA workout shown on the DVD. In my opinion, the people that wouldn't be challenged by the Tower 200 are hardcore body-builders or well-conditioned athletes because they may find the workouts too easy. For the average everyday Joe or Jane that wants to get in shape without getting hurt or spending a lot of money on expensive gym equipment or membership...the Tower 200 is for you!!!
As a Personal Trainer I Love this Gym April 6, 2010 A. Simoneli 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Being a personal trainer for clients in their homes I'm always on the lookout for equipment that has the functionality of that in the health clubs, but is easy to transport and set up. I've recently discovered the Tower 200 from Body By Jake.
I've used it in my home now for about two weeks and I'm very immpressed! It has allowed me to do all kinds of exercises that I either can't do or don't like doing with dumbbells. The way it's set up is very remminisent to the Freemotion Dual Cable Crossover that all of us trainers fight for at the gym.
I like this gym so much that I wrote a full review for it on my website [...]
My tower200 breakdown... March 21, 2010 CC (woodbury, connecticut) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
Wish you had the time and/or money to have a gym membership? (like me), wish you had more space in your house/apartment for a nice piece of gym equipment like a bowflex? (like me) Then the tower 200 is for you. i've had it about 2 weeks now and im loving it. I agree its not for the experienced weight lifter. But to get into shape or even get into better shape, i recommend it. I dont see myself getting jacked with it, but definitely more defined. The DVD is awesome, theres an 11 minute full body workout and then 3, three minute work outs tht target arms, chest/shoulder, and abs, and then a 3 minute ultimate workout. I started off using the dvd almost as a guide but now i've put together my own routine. My girlfriend had been busting me about "why im getting that silly thing" and "when am i going to have time to use it" but its funny because now that we have it she uses it as much as me if not more. she loves all of the ab exercises and shes in wicked good shape to begin with. I would consider my self to be in pretty good shape as well, seeing as all of my jobs are all very physical, but im still winded and almost sweating after a work out. Im sure i will be sweating come summer time. Well time to hit up my sunday tower routine. My final word, GET the Tower 200!

Great Product!! June 14, 2010 Ryan Jackson (Cincinnati, OH) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have had the Tower 200 for about a month now, using it approx. 3-4 times a week and see a huge improvement in overall strength and muscle tone. I would agree with other posts, in that the number of overall exercises you can do is a little exaggerated. My guess is they came up with 200 to match the maximum total resistance number of 200 as well as the name of the product, the Tower 200. Nevertheless, I have only been following the 11 minute workout exercises for the most part and if you're not sweating and need a breather by step 8 or 9 then you're not using the product properly or are in better shape than anyone I know.
Tip 1: If the 25 lb. band is too light for you on a particular exercise, but the 35 lb. band is a bit too much, try stepping a little further from the doorway for that particular exercise. As with any banded system, the resistance increases the more you stretch it. This is something I really like about this type of product because bands effectively give you multiple resistances on the same cord, depending on your stance and distance from the door.
Tip 2: Don't shortcut the exercises in the 11 minute workout. They are designed to work multiple muscle groups at once and give you the best workout in the shortest amount of time. For example, the lunge to decline press works not only the chest, but the shoulders, legs and abs at the same time. Not following through with the entire motion of each exercise is not going to give you the results you want, as like I said before, most of the resistance is encountered at the end of the motion. I am getting the same or better results with this product than with my $3000 Bowflex Revolution, and for a small fraction of the price. $200 is not a lot of money to shell out for a product of this caliber. It looks like you should be able to buy something like this for well under $200, but like everything else in life, you get what you pay for. This is a well designed and solidly constructed system and look forward to the next 3 or 4 months to see what it can really do for me.
